Who We Are

Have you ever read a verse in the Bible for the 101st time to have it jump off the page like you've never read it before?

Do you have a favorite story or character or promise in the Bible that you've memorized or that you go back to time and again... "that's my verse!"

This is why we do what we do. God's Word is alive and powerful and when we read it, we meet Him in its pages. How can we truly know and follow Him without it in a language we understand—our first language or our heart language? Bible translation is how God has called Jo and me to make disciples of the nations!

My plan was to join the Army to fly helicopters...

until I learned about missionary aviation. Aviation was the "hook" God used to get us into missions and Papua New Guinea was where we served our first term with Wycliffe (more on that story here).

Two years into our first term...

Wycliffe adopted Vision 2025, the vision to see a Bible translation project started in every language needing one by the year 2025. It was a God-sized vision that was far beyond Wycliffe, it was a vision for the whole church. It was the vision that became a catalyst for our move to Wycliffe’s HQ’s in Orlando, along with the question, what would it look like if the church embraced Bible translation in a more significant way?

Here’s what we do to help Bible translation.

One of Jo’s main responsibilities as Director of Orientation and Course Design is to lead the orientation programs for all staff, both stateside and global. Often, people interested in stepping out in missions are ill-equipped to serve. Jo is helping to improve both our onboarding process as well as to prepare staff to flourish as individuals and in community so that the mission of Bible translation can advance.

I serve as Prayer and Project Data Coordinator with one of the main goals being to reduce the time it takes to get urgent prayer requests from the field to committed donors and prayer partners. The assignment includes collaborating with other Bible translation organizations that also share the goal of creating a more dynamic connection between people, churches and the work of Bible translation around the world.

I Want To Help Prepare Staff And Enable Prayer For The Bible Translation Movement!

Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know, and a nation that did not know you shall run to you, because of the Lord your God, and of the Holy One of Israel, for he has glorified you. Isaiah 55:5 ESV
